Northern Region Of Mexico

Northern Mexico is one of the biggest geographical regions that lies within Mexico. The northern region of Mexico is a region not influenced by the Aztecs, Mayans or the Spanish but a more modern day culture, the United States of America. This region goes fro states like Chihuahua, Sonora, Durango and Zacatecas being the closest to the central region. With the U.S.A being so close to the upper states of the northern region, it has a great contribution to the cuisine sold in that upper region

This northern region is well known for their huge desserts that are located in Chihuahua and Sonora. These desserts define the cuisine that is eaten in the northern states. There are three main foods that the northern states are famous for and they are beef, seafood and flour instead of corn. The agricultural livestock (cows) have large areas to live in. The seafood comes from the many boarders to the Pacific and Atlantic ocean from the northern states like Baja California and Baja California Sur. The flour is a substitute for corn in the northern region because it is easier to grow flour in hotter regions like in the north.
