Many people believe that Mexico is only renowned for it’s varieties of tequila but they would be wrong. In Mexico there are many varieties of different styles of drinks including:

  • Alcoholic and non-alcoholic
  • Carbonated and non-carbonated
  • Fruit juice

All of the types of drinks listed above have unique recipes from each region of Mexico and come from all over the country. The first main drink bought by the public was a mead like drink back before the Spanish conquest of Mexico. From those drinks came more alcoholic beverages like tequila, beer, wine and other drinks with alcohol in them.

Not only the Alcoholic beverages from Mexico are delicious but also the fruit juices made from natural native fruits and fruit juices with alcohol in them. These fruit juices are amazing and can be found anywhere in Mexico and in a variety of flavours like pinapple, cactus, melon, watermelon, apple, guava, papaya and more flavours including mixtures. Along with these fruit juices another popular drink that comes from Mexico are Aguas frescas (fresh waters). Aguas frescas are drinks comprised of water with fruit seeds or fruits mixed with water and sugar. Aguas frescas can be bought from steet vendoor like most Mexican drinks.
